Pretend you’re good at it.

And all the rest

I’ve decided to bring these monthly updates to a close. The fact is, I’m not a full-time writer, I don’t always have things to talk about, and this is just another self-imposed duty I’ve assigned to myself whether I have anything to say or not, whether I want to do it or not. (Also, the blog is basically dead as a marketing or communication platform, and I never quite blogged regularly enough to build up the habit, so it really is a slog for me. But [see below] basically everything is at the moment.)

So instead I’m thinking about overhauling my website at some point and pushing the blog to the rear. But I want to do it properly, and that means paying for art and paying for web design (as well as finding people who can do what I have in mind for both), and it’s hard to justify that expense at the moment. I’ll take care of it when I sell my next book, if not before then.

That’s about all I have in me for this update. About 8 weeks into a particularly low mood, so you can imagine why I’ve decided it’s not worth doing these updates… Maybe they’ll return next year.

Enjoy whichever holiday it is you celebrate around this time of year, even if it’s just using the holidays as an excuse to spend time with your loved ones.
